Hardwiring a ChargePoint HomeFlex mounted inside the detached garage set to 40 amps. Also installing a 60 A subpanel inside the detached garage. The subpanel will power the charger and two 20a garage circuits. Installing a 60 A breaker to protect the subpanel and a Stepwise load-shedding device at the main panel. The load-shedding device will protect the EV charger from overloading the existing 100-amp electrical service. Pulling #6 MC through the basement. Connecting the MC with an existing 3/4-inch PVC underground conduit. Pulling #6 THHN/THWN-2 Through the underground conduit to the detached garage and terminating inside the 60 A subpanel. Installing a 50 A breaker at the subpanel to protect the EVSE and pulling #6 MC to the EVSE location right next to the subpanel inside the garage. Hardwiring to EVSE and setting to 40 A.
