The proposed work consists of the demolition and removal of an existing upper deck, lower deck, retaining wall, hot tub, patio, paver wall, and garage door landing, resulting in an approximate disturbance area of 1,089 square feet. Following demolition, the site will be excavated and prepared for the installation of a new patio with a compacted crushed stone base and chip stone bedding layer, graded to provide proper drainage. The project also includes the construction of approximately 131 linear feet of retaining walls with varying exposed heights ranging from 6 inches to 36 inches in height with one 5-foot section of wall exceeding 48 inches exposed. Included in the design are steps in the patio, and the installation of a gas fire pit. Final site improvements will include grading existing soil to appropriate subgrade, spreading roughly 20 yards of screened topsoil in lawn and planting bed areas, and installation of new landscape plantings. All work will be performed with appropriate erosion and sedimentation controls maintained throughout construction to protect adjacent wetland resources.
