From the filingConstruction of a new 24’-0” x 24’-0” detached one-story residential garage on a reinforced concrete slab with concrete frost footings, constructed in accordance with the Connecticut State Building Code. The structure will be conventional wood-frame construction with a gable roof supported by engineered roof framing. Exterior finishes will consist of horizontal composite siding, composite trim, architectural asphalt shingles, and aluminum soffit and fascia. The garage will include one overhead garage door and one insulated personnel entry door. The roof is a symmetrical gable design with a center ridge. Roof framing consists of 2×12 rafters supported by exterior bearing walls with Simpson rafter hangers and hurricane ties at all roof-to-wall connections. Wall framing will be conventionally framed and anchored to the concrete foundation with ½-inch diameter anchor bolts in accordance with code requirements. The garage is intended solely as an accessory residential structure for the storage of personal vehicles, lawn and garden equipment, tools, recreational equipment, and household items. No plumbing, heating, living space, commercial use, or habitable area is proposed.
