Your application for a Building Permit has been reviewed for compliance with the 2022 State of Connecticut Building Code. The permit for the proposed work is approved. All work is subjected to field inspections. Comments below are to be reviewed and followed. 1. Progress pictures are to be submitted to permit portal before final inspection Complete roof replacement of the main house roof only at 1 Meadow Court, Simsbury, CT. 15 SQ. Garage roof is excluded from this scope of work. Remove and legally dispose of existing roofing materials down to the roof deck. Inspect exposed roof decking for rot, deterioration, delamination, and fastening deficiencies. Replace up to four (4) sheets of 1/2 inch CDX plywood roof decking as included in the scope. Refasten existing roof sheathing as required by applicable code. Install Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration architectural asphalt shingles, Sand Castle. Install Owens Corning Starter Strip Shingles at eaves and rakes. Install Owens Corning ProEdge hip and ridge shingles. Install Owens Corning RhinoRoof U20 synthetic underlayment over the remaining roof deck. Install Owens Corning WeatherLock Mat ice and water shield at required eaves, valleys, chimney areas, and roof penetrations. Install new white aluminum drip edge and rake edge at applicable eaves and rakes. Install new aluminum step flashing and headwall flashing as required. Install new aluminum pipe boot flashings. Rebuild the existing chimney flashing, including step, apron, cricket, and counterflashing. Install Owens Corning VentSure 4 foot ridge ventilation with end caps. Install new 5 inch white seamless aluminum gutters and downspouts serving the main house. Properly pitch gutters and direct downspouts away from the foundation. Perform all work in accordance with the 2026 Connecticut State Building Code and applicable manufacturer installation requirements. Remove all roofing debris from the property upon completion. Perform a complete magnetic nail sweep of the work area, driveway, walkways, lawn, and landscaping. Schedule and complete the required municipal roofing inspection. No roofing, decking, flashing, gutter, or other work will be performed on the garage roof under this permit.
