Interior Basement Renovations, Adding Bathroom. Per your response Were going do a 1" Foam board rated at R-5 and then do a Rockwool on the inside cavity on the wall (R15) giving us a R20 insulation on the interior. Please let me know what you think. this will NOT be used as a Sleeping area. Main Ceiling will be a minimum 80" under beams will be 76" or greater. the space will be heated using the exisitng forced air system. If work in these areas are being updated/repaired, or altered. IRC R105.1 2.. Provide Smoke and CO Detectors per IRC for alterations and additions. IRC R314.2.2, R315.2.2 3.This approval is based on no structural work being done. Any relocation/removal of walls is assumed to be nonstructural. Any structural modifications, if required, shall be submitted to the building department for approval.
