Upgrade existing fire alarm system as per plan and install new devices in the second floor build-out. All existing devices to remain and connect to new addressable panel. BO NOTES: FIRE ALARM – ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REQUIRED: The proposed second-floor fire alarm system extension is generally shown on Sheet E-1; however, additional documentation is required prior to approval. Provide battery calculations and notification appliance circuit voltage-drop calculations demonstrating adequate capacity of the existing fire alarm control equipment and power supplies for the proposed additional devices. Provide manufacturer/model and available capacity information for the existing FACP and associated power supplies and confirm compatibility of all proposed devices. Provide a fire alarm sequence-of-operations/input-output matrix identifying alarm, supervisory and trouble functions and all associated system interfaces. Clarify existing sprinkler monitoring, kitchen hood suppression monitoring, HVAC/duct detector interfaces and supervising-station monitoring, where applicable. Confirm audible and visible notification appliance coverage throughout the affected second-floor areas in accordance with NFPA 72 and the applicable Connecticut State Building/Fire Safety Codes. Upon completion, the modified fire alarm system shall be tested in accordance with NFPA 72. Testing shall include all new devices and affected existing system functions. Required test documentation shall be provided at final inspection.
