Building permit application to replace the fire damage insulation and paint the house. 1. Remove and properly dispose of all blackened and fire-damaged insulation from the accessible basement crawl space. 2. Clean and vacuum the exposed framing, floor joists, subflooring, and surrounding surfaces to remove loose debris, soot, dust, and insulation residue. 3. Prepare the cleaned surfaces and apply a professional-grade smoke- and odor-sealing primer to encapsulate remaining staining and residual fire odor. 4.
