The data

What each home permit includes.

Each permit comes tagged by trade, and one permit can carry several: a kitchen remodel is plumbing and electrical work. You pull the trades you sell, in the towns you serve.

How it’s used

How home-services companies use it.

01

Mail the homes with work under way

Pull each week's permits for your trade and send mail to those addresses: a new pool needs a fence and upkeep, a new boiler needs a service plan.

02

Size each town

Count permits by trade, town and month to see where the work is before you add a truck or a territory.

03

Plan for the season

See when roofing, HVAC and pool permits rise and fall in each county, and staff for it.

04

Check your share

Where a permit names the contractor, compare your permit count with other companies' in the towns you serve.

Delivery

Pull what changed, not the whole file.

Every dataset is a feed with a cursor, delivered by API. Run it hourly, daily or weekly, and never re-download yesterday’s records.

01
Changes, not dumps — Your first pull returns the backlog. After that, each pull returns only what's new or changed since the last one: new records, status changes, and new filings on a place you already have.
02
Search when you need it — Look up permits by county, town, trade, property type, status, date or keyword, sorted by date or valuation.
03
One key for your team — JSON over HTTPS, up to 1,000 records a call, limited to the areas you license.

Questions

Frequently asked

When the town records one: 44% of permits on single-family homes in the last 12 months carry a valuation.

We check most feeds every day, and many records arrive the same day they're filed. Some towns only publish weekly or monthly; their records arrive as soon as they post.
