New construction of BLDG 3 Health comments: Septic system is large AT Community system under DEEP jurisdiction. Fire Marshal Approval Comments: All work shall comply with the 2022 Connecticut State Building Code (CSBC), the 2022 Connecticut State Fire Safety Code (CSFSC), all applicable amendments and referenced codes and standards, the approved construction documents, and all conditions of State Modification Request No. 26-0426. In-process and final inspections by the Fire Marshal’s Office (FMO) and Building Official (BO) shall be completed and approved prior to the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy (CO). Automatic Sprinkler System The automatic sprinkler system shall be installed and tested in accordance with NFPA 13R, 2019 edition, the 2022 CSFSC, the approved construction documents, and all applicable conditions of State Modification Request No. 26-0426. Required acceptance testing shall include, as applicable: Hydrostatic testing at 200 psi for two hours, or at the pressure otherwise required by the applicable referenced standard based upon system working pressure. Inspector’s test/waterflow test. Main drain test. Dry-pipe system trip test. Testing of all applicable supervisory and waterflow devices. The sprinkler contractor shall contact the Fire Marshal’s Office to schedule all required system inspections and acceptance testing. The Fire Department Connection (FDC) shall be provided with a 4-inch Storz connection with a 30-degree elbow, as required by the Fire Marshal’s Office and Fire Department. The FDC location and installation shall comply with the approved construction documents and applicable requirements of the CSFSC. Fire Alarm System The fire alarm system shall be installed and tested in accordance with the 2022 CSBC, 2022 CSFSC, NFPA 72, 2019 edition, the approved construction documents, and the manufacturer’s requirements. Upon completion of the installation and required testing, the Fire Alarm Contractor shall provide the Fire Marshal’s Office with a completed NFPA 72 Record of Completion and Record of Inspection and Testing, documenting completion of the installation, compliance with the applicable codes and standards, and the results of all required testing. The Fire Alarm Contractor shall contact the Fire Marshal’s Office to schedule a final acceptance inspection and functional test of the complete and fully operational fire alarm system. Final approval of the sprinkler and fire alarm systems by the Fire Marshal’s Office shall be obtained prior to the request for issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy.
